EyeIgnite Presumed Off Team SoloMid, Will Play With Triple Trouble This Weekend

With the qualifiers for Dreamhack Montreal rapidly approaching, teams are starting to announce their rosters ahead of tomorrow's full reveal on the tournament website. One wrinkle thrown into the mix was that Team SoloMid's EyeIgnite will join Triple Trouble in place of Kassio for this weekend's qualifiers. Shortly after the news broke EyeIgnite took to Reddit to add insight as, predictably, questions started swirling about his status with TSM. EyeIgnite's now presumably former teammate Remkoe didn't appreciate what was said. A comment was made pointing out that just 9 days ago EyeIgnite had posted, "I told both Remkoe and Mets that I do not ever want another team. We're all on the same page." Another poster then questioned whether EyeIgnite was being disingenuous with that statement, or if the other two had agreed with that statement and then kicked him. EyeIgnite's response was simple: "The latter is true." That response brought out

Four Spots Up For Grabs in Worldgaming's Last Open Qualifier

After three weeks of open online qualifiers for the Worldgaming North American Championship, eight teams have secured passage further into the event by virtue of either winning one of the qualifiers outright, or gaining enough points to reach the closed qualifier stage. This weekend, one more team will earn its way straight to the live finals at FAN EXPO Canada in August, and the field for the closed qualifier stage will also be finalized. The teams that have advanced directly to the live finals include Noble, Linked Up, and Plot Twist. Noble consists of ZombiePoopShark, AlphaKep, and Rival Series veteran Astroh. The other two teams are full of players with league play experience. Linked Up contains Sosa, Skillz, and JoeFreshness - all of whom competed this past season in the Rival Series. Plot Twist features the dynamic tandem of Taroco and Mectos, also from the Rival Series, along with Rocket League Championship Series veteran CorruptedG. This event could be a tryout for CorruptedG

Minor Moves As NA Awaits NRG Decision

Last season the big catalyst for change was Kaydop's departure from two-time World Champion Dignitas to join Renault Sport Team Vitality, leading to Kaydop's third World Championship in four seasons. This time it's on the opposite end of the Atlantic Ocean where everyone is waiting to see who will replace the retiring Fireburner on the NRG Esports roster. One prevailing theory seems to be that three-time World Champion, Turbopolsa will change regions and move from Europe to North America. If he does, that leaves a void to fill on the Dignitas roster back in Europe. At Dreamhack Valencia, that role was filled by Aztral, who looked as strong as any other striker at the event not named Chausette, but it was obvious that the team was still working out defensive issues given the short time they had to prepare. Drippay has been another player who has been mentioned as Fireburner's replacement. While it's unlikely that Evil Geniuses would give up the rights to Drippay

My Take Monday: Professionalism, Social Media, And You

By Stax The internet amplifies the best and the worst of everything. Every day we see stories of heroism and cute, funny things that happen and an endless supply of inspiration and positivity. We also see drama, hatred, jealousy, and general negativity - often in the same places. Welcome to the internet where all you need is an e-mail address and you can create a social media account, be it on Twitter or Reddit or on Discord, and you can have your opinion seen by as many people as there will ever be in the history of humanity. Every now and then, pro Rocket League players have been criticized for their performances and have read social media postings from anonymous people with only a screen name and sometimes a profile picture to offer any clues as to their identity. Some of those postings suggest they are the problem on their team and that they either should be replaced, or will be replaced. Imagine having a poor performance, like being considered one of the best teams in the worl

Dreamhack Valencia Results: Ground Zero Gaming Stuns TSM

By Stax; post will be updated as results come in Friday marked the beginning of the third Dreamhack Pro Circuit event of 2019, with 32 teams descending on Valencia to lay claim to a $100,000 USD prize pool. GROUP A The biggest surprise of the day came very early in the difficult Group A. Oceania's Ground Zero Gaming, coming off an 0-2 performance in the Rocket League Championship Series World Championship in June, went the distance with Splyce in the opening round before being knocked down to the lower bracket. But Ground Zero would get another chance to qualify for day two, if they could beat Team SoloMid. Thanks to an own-goal off a challenge by TSM's EyeIgnite, and an aerial strike from GZG's Julz, Ground Zero took two overtime wins en route to a thrilling 3-2 upset over the ELEAGUE 2018 Champions. Since winning ELEAGUE and signing with TSM, the team is 6-6 against non-European teams, aided greatly by their performance at Dreamhack Dallas last month. Renault Spor

Vitality Sub Neqzo LFT

By Stax Cross "World Championship" off the bucket list for Neqzo . The Renault Sport Team Vitality Substitute is now looking to move back into a starting role for the rest of 2019. In a tweet today,  Neqzo thanked Vitality for allowing him to represent them for the past year and announced that he is looking to join or start a team. The Frenchman was brought onto Vitality as part of the Gfinity Elite Series in 2018 . He played all four matches during the season, in which Vitality finished 1-3 and finished in a tie for the bottom spot in the division with exceL. During the season, Neqzo led the team with 7 assists and added 8 goals on 32 shots. Neqzo recorded Vitality's only hat trick of the season in his very first match, against Reason Gaming.
